New year New you. Looking for ways to drop those extra pounds, feel fitter and healthier for 2022. Then you need to join Shape Up, The Award winning Weight loss programme run by Watford FC’s Community Trust, – the charity arm of Watford football club.
The award winning weight loss programme called Shape Up is a 12 week weight loss course for both men and women with some sessions exclusively for women and some for Men.
However, due to the rise in obesity, and Type 2 diabetes in the South Asian Community in Hertfordshire, they in partnership with Herts County Council, are running some specific weight loss courses specifically just for Asian Men to join, to help tackle the higher prevalence of diabetes in the Asian communities and provide courses to those who may feel hesitant to join mixed courses.
The course is running at Hemel Hempstead School, starting the 11th January and will run for 12 weeks.
Shape Up is a 12-week programme that combines education and exercise to help men lose at least 5% of their bodyweight. Each session will focus on a different topic around nutrition and behavior change, and will be followed by an exercise session which could be anything from circuits to boxing to team games.
To qualify for the programme you need to:
- Be aged 18-65
- Have a BMI of over 27.5
- Live in Hertfordshire or be registered to a Hertfordshire GP
