On Friday 23 March, local sisters organised a ladies dinner and auction in aid of Islamic Relief’s Syria: Eastern Ghouta appeal. The dinner, which has so far raised £3800 was held at St Mary’s Community Church in Marshalswick, hosting a total of 100 guests.

The organisers thanked all those who have contributed towards making the event a success including those who attended and those who could not but still donated. In particular they thanked the local businesses who supported their efforts through donations, namely, Oasis, India Gardens, Med Grill, Ambala, Mens Spire, The Meating Room, Niralla and Bhavins.

In addition, they thanked the sisters who helped out on the day and those who played the duff and sang for the crowd. They noted ‘It’s always nice to have a relaxed evening just for the ladies, and it’s even better when you can have fun ad contribute towards helping others.’
