St Albans Lantern Walk

Every culture and religion has its traditions, whether it be hanging ornaments and lights on a Christmas tree during the holidays, or releasing a glowing sky lantern during the Chinese Lantern Festival or during the Lanna Yi Peng festival in Thailand.

For Muslims, there is a special tradition that involves beautiful lanterns that are set aglow with candles or oils, creating beautiful patterns of light and colour through the night. If you travel to the Middle East during Ramadan, you will find these lanterns hanging in bazaars, in front of homes, restaurants and hotels.

In the spirit of #RamadanAtHome we’re asking you to design and decorate your windows with bright and beautiful lanterns. All entries will be added to the prize draw. Simply post your pic here for a chance to win a £100 Amazon voucher. The winner will be announced on 23rd May 2020.

This is open to ALL children aged 16 and under.
