Ramadan in Action: Giving That Feeds the Community
Ramadan is a month of reflection, gratitude and generosity. While many associate it with fasting from dawn to sunset, its deeper heartbeat is charity — practical, visible and rooted in care for others.
Please support these two great initiatives durring ramadan:
The St Albans Pantry Ramadan Giving Calendar, which encourages young people to donate a diffrent food type each day, items that the pantry need. The Pantry also delivers 40 iftar packs aday to those who need it most.

The HAWA Ramadan Wishlist in partnership with the St Albans & District Foodbank, is asking the community to donate specific items for muslim families. these efforts help ensure families experiencing hardship can access essential food and household items during the holy month.

The wishlist includes everyday staples — from tinned fruit, soup and baked beans to chapati flour, dates, long-life milk and toiletries. These are simple items, yet they can make a profound difference to a household preparing to break their fast.
Ramadan teaches that giving is not just kindness; it is an act of worship. Through Zakat (obligatory charity) and Sadaqah (voluntary charity), Muslims are encouraged to support those in need, particularly during this blessed month when generosity is amplified.
Every donation to the Foodbank or ST Albans Community Pantry strengthens the safety net around vulnerable neighbours. Ramadan reminds us that when a community gives together, it grows stronger together — turning compassion into action.
